Episode 14
e14 Do the Work Don’t Worry
“I put all my hope on the truth of Your promise, and I stand in my heart on the ground of Your goodness.” -Singer, Audrey Assad, “Good to Me”
Ponder the Text: Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? -Matthew 6:26-27, NLT
Prompt for Thought: Where are worrying where you simply need to be working? Give it over to God in prayer and trust.
Prayer for the Journey: God, while we try our best to live lives of faith, we must admit that at times worry takes over our work. Help us to see our lives through your eyes. Help us to live into the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:26-27 when he tells us to take note of how the birds live. They work at building their lives but they don’t worry about provision. They trust that all they need will be there when we need it. Help us to do the same. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
