Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the only beholder that matters is God.

Ponder the Text: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139:14

Prompt for Thought: Take a look in the mirror. Really look. Take your time. After you have noticed everything, say to yourself, “I am beautiful!” How did it feel? Was it hard? Was it easy? Why?

Prayer for the Journey: God, forgive us when we reject your beauty, which is found in all of us. Help us to move past society’s definitions and to see what you see in all of your creation. God, help us to see that beauty in ourselves as an expression of your image and likeness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
